We could all do with a project to keep our spirits up and what better than getting ready for the coming festivities? And now we can be even greener by making our own Christmas decorations. So get the family involved and let’s all make 2020 the greenest Christmas yet!
Making your own natural decorations also has the benefit of filling your home with the most beautiful scents to bring you and your loved ones some festive cheer. That.. and the mulled wine and carols!


If you haven’t got the right equipment, we have put together a reusable Wreath Making Kit. Pair our kit with fresh greenery and decorations year after year.

What You Will Need...
1. Greenery
Look for greenery such as:
- Holly
- Spruce
- Fir
- Ivy
- Eucalyptus
- Camelia
- Laurel
- Olive
- Rosemary
- Sage

2. Decorations
Next time you’re out on a walk or in your garden, collect some natural decorations:
- Acorns
- Pine cones
- Lichen
- Twigs
- Bark
- Moss (do not gather this from forests as it is protected)
- Berries

Note: When foraging, please do so responsibly. Try not to take too much from one place.

Or from the kitchen:
- Cinnamon sticks
- Star Anise
- Cloves
- Chilis

Dry some fruit or chilis in a cool oven, such as:
- Orange slices
- Lime Slices
- Apple Slices
- Whole Chilis

3. Equipment
You will need:
- Floristry scissors
- Wire on a reel
- Re-usable wreath base (straw, wire or home-made. Please say ‘no’ to floral foam as it is not environmentally friendly)
- Moss pins
- Ribbon or raffia
- Or buy our ready-made and reusable Wreath Making Kit with all the equipment plus some starter decorations.
