At Tallis Tribe, we like to bring together like-minded people who share the same ethics, values and goals with regards to the health of environment as well our communal well-being. It’s a place to share ideas and learn new skills from one another on how to live a healthier and more sustainable life. All the small businesses in our community share these values and we would like to introduce them to you every Monday.
Mondays - a time for you to meet and connect with our makers #makermonday.
This week we start with Kelly, the founder of Cura Jewellery.
Kelly recycles discarded plastic to create beautiful jewellery. The plastic she collects is cleaned, melted & manipulated to create unique & marbled patterns that is then pressed into sheets. It’s from these sheets that she cuts out her designs to create her jewellery. This process makes every pair completely one of a kind!
All off -cuts, left-overs and parts deemed faulty are collected & recycled again- nothing is wasted. The jewellery is then assembled by hand, combined with gold & silver-plated brass elements.
At the end of the jewellery’s life, it can be returned to Kelly, whereby she will recycle it all again & give it new life. It’s this commitment to circular, zero waste design that makes Cura Jewellery shine.
Beautiful, sustainable & incredibly lightweight, Cura Jewellery is designed to last, and challenge our perceptions of waste and where we place value.
