Today, I enjoyed a treatment from Laraba at Balanced Healing and want to share my experience of this complementary wellness treatment.
Testimonial
Laraba from Balanced Healing is a true Healer. I have known Laraba for nearly 10 years and she has helped me through all sorts of physical and mental blockages. Through one-on-one coaching sessions, Laraba has helped me see clearly and organise my thoughts which has helped me so much both personally and professionally. I have also enjoyed her physical healing in the form of massage and today I enjoyed her myofascial release massage. I feel like I’ve changed shape and even grown a little. She massaged my tummy so well, it feels like it has shrunk! My whole body feels relaxed and as if everything is flowing better. I have a new clarity. I’m booking in for a top up in a couple of weeks for sure. Her myofascial release treatment is transformative. I couldn’t recommend it as well as Laraba’s other services highly enough!
My Experience of Myofascial Treatment with Balanced Healing
Myofascial release treatment is a type of physical therapy that stretches and releases the thin, elastic connective tissue (fascia) that wraps around most structures of the body including muscles. It is claimed that gentle hands on pressure can help release muscle tension and improve circulation.
Today, I enjoyed a 90 minute treatment with Laraba from Balanced Healing. After washing my hands, I lay on my back on a lovely warm massage table covered by a heavy blanket. Laraba and I both wore masks and the room was spotlessly clean. The session started with Laraba holding my head and taking me though a meditation which helped me to be more present. I often have difficulty controlling my monkey brain which jumps from things I could have done better to things I need to do, especially when lying on a massage table so this helped enormously!
The myofascial release began with Laraba applying very gentle pressure on my chest and abdomen and pulling her hands apart slightly. I had feeling of being gentle stretched internally. I have a continuous pain on my left side and during the session it slowly dissipated even though her hands were nowhere near the spot. It must be a referred pain from elsewhere. Laraba then concentrated on my tummy and then my legs. It is said that our stomachs are our second brain and we hold a lot of tension in there as well. That makes sense – think of butterflies when you’re nervous. I certainly feel like a lot of the tension has gone as has a feeling of fullness that I often have. She’s given me a flatter tummy!
For my legs, Laraba gentle stretched both legs. I have Restless Leg Syndrome so this will improve the circulation to alleviate the symptoms which are worse at bedtime. I’m now looking forward to a good sleep tonight without my legs feeling like they need to move every few minutes. My husband will certainly be grateful for a more peaceful night!
