Have you noticed any things which have got better during the coronavirus pandemic crisis? I’ve talked about how the Earth is benefiting with lower emissions and less human interference.
There are of course many challenges and struggles, some of which will be felt for years. It remains to be seen what lasting damage there will be, the scale of job losses and the economic toll.
But, since we all need positive thoughts right now, spare a moment to think about what is better... savour it. How life has slowed down. How there’s no more FOMO. We’re finding new ways to find meaning, that aren’t the same old model of consumption: dining out, changing the view, meeting new people, ‘better’ and ‘more’. This enforced halt has hopefully shown us that what is right in front of us is beautiful, simple and equally fulfilling.
And the best part? It’s been here forever and always will be. As a friend said to me, when the dust settles, we’ll realise how very little we need, how much we already have and the value of mindful human connection.
If you do or feel something magical, capture it to remind the future you. Tell them, I’d like to keep it this way now, please.
