"This summer Christmas in New Zealand I have decided to create my Christmas wreath using just one foliage. I always feel that simplicity like this can create real impact."
"I will be working with locally sourced seeded eucalyptus to create an energetic and textured door wreath with plenty of movement and fragrance. Eucalyptus is really good to use here as it is native, long-lasting and survives in the New Zealand sun. I am using locally-sourced eucalyptus so the footprint of my wreath will be much smaller too. "Mistletoe is a must for me, and if you have not got a mistletoe bearing tree in the garden put it on your list! You can buy various trees already impregnated and they look just as beautiful in the garden too."
"Rather than buying in a new Christmas tree each year, get a small pine tree and pot it up and bring inside. You can just wrap the plastic pot with hessian. Buy a root control bag so you can plant it in the garden (in the bag) afterwards but this makes it easy to lift for many future Christmases. Prune it gently year on year to make it the perfect shape."
"Pick as many evergreens from outside that you can/need and make swags of greenery to tie up the bannisters, over fire places etc. Use cable ties to fix. Hang pine cones from different lengths of ribbons and gather them in bunches to decorate doors, beams or bannisters."

"This year, more than ever, I think people will want to make their homes feel that little bit more special at Christmas. I wanted to create a table decoration - something really simple using natural materials that anyone can source with a little bit of foraging. The more we can use what we have close to home, being creative, sustainable and traceable, the more we can relish what nature has to offer."
