Eco Sewing Lesson (2 hours)
Tallis has teamed up with Caroline Miles to offer Eco-Sewing Lessons. Running weekly in central Nyon, learn how to mend or re-style a piece of clothing over two hours.
In a world of mass consumption, quantity over quality, fast-fashion, next season trends, excessive packaging waste and plastic, we need to act and do our bit for the planet. At the same time as keeping it fun!
At the same time as acquiring eco-friendly skills, develop your creative side and learn something new. Each week covers something different:
29 September - Learn the basics of sewing
6 October - How to use a sewing machine, part 1
13 October - How to use a sewing machine, part 2
27 October - How to use an overlock machine
3 November - Basic repairs (holes, tears, buttons, zips)
10 November - Recognise different fabrics and how to work them
17 November - Hand-stitching
24 November - Embroidery
1 December - Sewing Christmas decorations
8 December - Sewing Christmas gifts
All sewing supplies and fabrics are included. Participants are encouraged to bring old garments to work on. Take home all the projects you create during the lesson.
Price: 100CHF per lesson (due to Covid-19, we have reduced the number of students to guarantee more spacing between them).
